If you hold a Class 1 or Class 2 licence and work in residential sales or as a buyer's agent, you need 7 hours of interactive training from an approved provider across 4 compulsory topics, finished by 30 June 2027. Our courses cover all of it in live webinars, and EDUTIVE is listed as an approved provider on the NSW Fair Trading CPD page.

How the live webinars work
Each course has three parts: the live interactive webinars, optional reading lessons to help you prepare, and quizzes and an assignment you complete afterwards. Your certificate is issued once you have attended the live sessions and the quizzes and assignment are done.

Before the webinar
The reading lessons are optional. Many learners use them to prepare for the discussion and activities in the live session.

At the live webinar
Join a small session with a trainer, with your camera and microphone on, and take part in the activities. A webinar is capped at 25 people, and a face-to-face session at 40. The trainer may ask to see your photo ID and licence.

After the webinar
Complete the quizzes and the written assignment in your own time. They are part of the assessment for your CPD. Your certificate is issued once you have attended the live sessions and the quizzes and assignment are done. Written assessments are usually marked within one business day.
What Fair Trading counts
NSW Fair Trading requires compulsory topics to be taught in an interactive setting with an assessment. Self-paced study on its own doesn't count, so a recorded video or a download won't cover you. Confirm the current delivery rules on the official Fair Trading CPD page.
Most agents finish in one intake

What each course covers
Residential salespeople and buyer's agents each need 7 hours across 4 compulsory topics. Three topics are the same for both, and one is different.

If you hold a Class 1 licence
Class 1 licence holders also need at least 5 hours at a NSW Fair Trading accredited forum. If you work in residential sales, as a buyer's agent, or in commercial, business broking or stock and station, you also need AUSTRAC's Smart real estate agent's guide to AML/CTF course. Both sit on top of the 7 compulsory hours and aren't part of our courses.

Yes, through live interactive webinars. Fair Trading accepts compulsory topics taught as an interactive webinar with up to 25 people, plus an assessment. What doesn't count is self-paced study on its own, such as videos or reading you work through alone. All our courses are run as live webinars, with online lessons and quizzes to support them.
Not on its own. After the live sessions, you complete short quizzes and an assignment, which are part of the assessment for your CPD. Your certificate is issued once these are done, so finish them before the 30 June deadline. The reading lessons are optional, but many learners find they help with both the webinars and the assessment.
For the 2026–27 CPD year, at least 7 hours of interactive training from an approved provider, covering 4 compulsory topics. Other licence categories have different hours and topics.
Each course above shows its next intake and how many seats are left, and the course page lists the session times. If an intake is full, you can join the waitlist. An intake is a booking window, not a deadline: your CPD year runs until 30 June 2027.
A working camera and microphone, and your own EDUTIVE login. Keep your camera on for the session and take part in the activities. Have your photo ID and licence handy in case the trainer asks to see them.
Once you've attended your sessions, passed the quizzes, had your written assessment marked and we've checked your licence details. Written assessments are usually marked within one business day, and your certificate then appears in your account to download.
Yes. As an approved provider, we pass course and contact details for everyone who completes our training to Fair Trading, as a condition of our approval. Please keep your own records too: licence holders for 3 years and certificate of registration holders for 4 years.
No. The shared topics only need to be done once. Take one course, then add the one extra topic for $99: Marketing services, scope of practice and licensing obligations if you started with the salesperson course, or the Rules of Conduct refresher if you started with the buyer's agent course.
No. Our courses cover the compulsory topics for your area of practice. The 5-hour accredited forum and AUSTRAC's AML/CTF course are separate requirements for Class 1 licence holders.
Yes. A Licensee in Charge can book seats for the team and match each person to the right course. Because webinars are capped at 25, larger teams may be spread across more than one session. We offer a discount for large groups and can issue a tax invoice for bank transfer.
No, they run on different clocks. The CPD year runs from 1 July to 30 June. Your licence has its own expiry date, and you renew it through Service NSW. Finishing your CPD keeps you on track, but it isn't the same as renewing your licence.
