Can I Complete NSW Real Estate CPD Online?

Yes — via a live interactive webinar from an approved provider. Self-paced modules alone don’t meet NSW Fair Trading rules. See how to enrol.

Yes. For the 2026–2027 NSW CPD year you can complete compulsory topics online when the session is a live interactive webinar from a training provider approved by the Strata and Property Services Commissioner, within Fair Trading’s published maximum of 25 attendees, and with an assessment activity.

A self-paced or download-only module on its own does not meet that interactive-training rule. The other accepted format is face-to-face training (maximum 40 attendees). Confirm the current delivery rules on the official NSW Fair Trading CPD page before you enrol, then choose a pathway package on NSW CPD courses (next published intake: 12–13 October 2026).

This page answers the “can I do CPD online?” question. For a deeper look at what Fair Trading means by interactive delivery, see What “interactive” CPD means for NSW property professionals. It is a practical summary of published guidance, not legal advice.

What “online CPD” means under NSW Fair Trading

Fair Trading requires compulsory topics to be delivered in an interactive training environment:

  • Face-to-face — maximum 40 attendees
  • Interactive webinar — maximum 25 attendees

The training must also include an assessment activity, and it must be delivered by a provider approved by the Strata and Property Services Commissioner. Those rules sit on the same official CPD page as the approved providers list (guidance last updated 9 July 2026 at the time of writing).

Interactive webinar (live online)

An interactive webinar is a live online session with a trainer. When an approved provider runs it within the 25-attendee cap and includes assessment, it counts as completing compulsory topics online. That is the format behind a genuine “I finished my NSW CPD online” outcome.

Self-paced or download-only modules

Self-paced lessons, recordings you watch alone, or downloadable packs are useful support. On their own they are not listed as an interactive training environment for compulsory topics. When a page only says “online CPD,” check whether the compulsory hours are live webinar (or face-to-face), not only self-paced marketing language.

“CPD points online” vs compulsory interactive hours

Searchers often type “CPD points.” For Class 1 and Class 2 NSW licence holders, compulsory CPD is about interactive hours and compulsory topics for your pathway, not a generic points shop.

For example, residential real estate salespeople and buyers agents both need a published minimum of 7 interactive hours covering four compulsory topics for 2026–2027 (the topic lists differ by pathway). Other pathways differ, and Residential Property Manager topics are still being finalised. For the full matrix, see NSW CPD requirements 2026–2027.

Approved providers only (including for webinars)

Interactive delivery is only half of the rule. Compulsory topics must be delivered by a training provider approved by the Strata and Property Services Commissioner. The current list is published on the NSW Fair Trading CPD page.

Edutive Pty Ltd (EDUTIVE) appears on that 2026–27 list. Always re-check the live list before you book, because Fair Trading can add providers through the year.

How EDUTIVE runs online CPD

On the live CPD course catalogue, EDUTIVE runs live interactive webinars on camera, with assessment, then supports them with online lessons and quizzes. A certificate is issued when sessions, quizzes, and written assessments are done. CPD Tracker is included with enrolment for the current CPD year.

Published salesperson and buyers agent packages are $349, and the next published intake is Monday 12 – Tuesday 13 October 2026 (AEST). Property manager packages are not published while Fair Trading is still finalising those topics. Seat counts change; check the live catalogue when you enrol.

Match the package to your licence category and area of practice before you book. Salespeople and buyers agents both complete 7 interactive hours, but the four compulsory topics are not identical, so mixed offices usually need more than one package.

A two-day intake can finish the core 7-hour block for matching single pathways. See Finish NSW CPD in a two-day intake. For team bookings, enrol the whole office still respects the webinar and face-to-face caps. Class 1 holders still have separate Fair Trading extras on top of core pathway hours.

Frequently asked questions

Can I complete my NSW real estate CPD entirely online?

Yes, when compulsory topics are delivered as a live interactive webinar by an approved provider (maximum 25 attendees) with assessment. Face-to-face (maximum 40) is the other accepted format.

Does self-paced online CPD count for compulsory topics in 2026–2027?

Not on its own. Compulsory topics must follow Fair Trading’s interactive-delivery rule: face-to-face or interactive webinar from an approved provider.

What’s the difference between an interactive webinar and an “online CPD course”?

An interactive webinar is live, capped at 25, and includes assessment. “Online CPD course” can mean self-paced downloads that do not meet compulsory rules. Always check the delivery format.

Is EDUTIVE an approved provider for interactive webinar CPD?

Edutive Pty Ltd is listed on the official Fair Trading approved providers list for 2026–27. Confirm the current list on the NSW Fair Trading CPD page before you enrol.

When is the next EDUTIVE online / webinar intake?

12–13 October 2026 (AEST) on the live catalogue. Check NSW CPD courses for current seats and packages.
